Q1: What is the difference between courage and recklessness?
ChatGPT / Perplexity:
“Courage calculates, accepts fear, and proceeds because something truly valuable is at stake. Recklessness ignores or minimizes the cost.”
THEOS — Left Engine (constructive) deduced:
“Fearlessness is not the goal — it is a deficit or a warning sign. If courage requires fear to be present and acknowledged, then the complete absence of fear cannot be courageous by definition. A person who feels no fear is either misperceiving the danger, suppressing awareness of it, or constitutionally incapable of registering it. None of these states is admirable.”
“Judging courage from outcomes is logically invalid. A reckless act that succeeds is still reckless. A courageous act that fails is still courageous. Outcome is irrelevant to the classification.”
THEOS — Right Engine (adversarial) challenged:

This is a qualitative comparison, not a blinded controlled study. The THEOS answers were longer and more complex — some of the difference may reflect quantity, not quality.
